The director of Days Gone shares his disappointment for the treatment of the game by PlayStation

Today, the developer Sucker Punch Productions celebrated the sales of phantasma of Sushi, who have already exceeded 8 million copies on PlayStation platforms. That number probably represents the combined sales in PS4 and PS5, but it is an impressive number, in any case. While Sony is clearly happy with the success of the game, Jeff Ross could not help to compare the treatment of the game with Dias. On Twitter, the director of the game stated that management made him feel that his game was a failure, even though he was going to work equally well, and since then he has been successful in PC.

At the time I left Sony, Dias, had left for a year and a half (and one month) and sold more than 8 million copies. Since then, he has sold more, and then more than a million in Steam. The direction of the local study always made us feel that it was a great disappointment. Ross wrote on Twitter.

Ross continued saying that he he was planning to build on the original for an incredible sequel. Unfortunately, it seems that follow-up will never happen, despite the commercial success of the game. In the comments, Ross continues to say that the gaming means did not help, and some fans seem to believe that the Metacritic score could have had something to do with Sony’s attitude towards Dias. However, Ross says that the reason never explained well, so it is difficult to say it with certainty.

The difference in the treatment of Sony to Fantasia of sushi and days, is easy to see. Past dies, you will not have a sequel, and there are already plans to be launched for an adaptation to the big screen of phantasma of sushi. For Ross game fans, it really should be discouraging, and he says a lot about the voluble that can be the video game industry.
