Especially Edwards showed a fantastic playoff debut in which he did not just score 36 points (12/23 FG), but also Grizzlies star Yes Morant (32, 8/18 FG, 16/20 Ft, 8 Assists) and its Dreaded drives curved in the second half. But it was ultimately a team performance, even Jaden McDaniel and Patrick Beverley could annoy Morant again and again.
The McDaniel finally met the threesome, which secured the victory of the Wolves. The guests sank good 39 percent of downtown, but cooled above all in half. For this, Minnesota fell after the change only 2 ball losses, that was the key to ward off a possible comeback of the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies, on the other hand, held especially with the whistles against Jaren Jackson Jr. (10, 4/12), which was not even 24 minutes on the field due to foul problems. The Big One Blocked Still 7 litters at this time, but remained luckless (0/4) from the distance. In general, the hosts turned just seven threesome (27 attempts), only Dillion Brooks (24), Desmond Bane (17) and Tyus Jones (7, 6 Assists) were successful. After all, Brandon Clarke (13, 6/7, 12 Rebounds) as Big Man knew from the bench.
For the Wolves McDaniels (15) and Malik Beasley (23, 4/10 threesome) were important factors from the bank, especially the latter saw many minutes, because d’Angelo Russell (10, 2/11, 8 assists) are not always on the height was. Karl-Anthony Towns (29, 11/18 FG, 13 rebounds) convinced after his weak play-in-performance this time.
Anthony Edwards protrudes at Wolves victory
The Wolves started fire hot, especially Towns and Edwards were unstoppable and disappeared the Grizzlies for all the rules of art. The duo scored 25 points in the first twelve minutes, on the other side Morant was a one-man open. 15 points (5/5 FG, 5/6 FT) were his yield, everything in the z1. Nevertheless, the residue was temporarily 13 counters.
With Towns on the bank, the Grizzlies turned on with their second unit. For the Wolves, Backup Big Naz Reid was a weak point, but edwards scoree is no longer at will. The hosts always found gaps in the zone and were firmeal in transition. Minnesota threw the ball eleven times in the second quarter, Memphis scored 15 meters and was back to 3 points in the break (62:65).
After changing, however, again showed that the Wolves starters were better. Edwards continued self-confident, turning Jumper around Jumper and Towns grabbed Jackson Jr. on a juicy poster. Morant has not been so easy anymore and only came to points on the line. Instead, it was Brooks who held the hosts with three triples in the game.
Jackson Jr., on the other hand, had further foul problems and won his fifth foul early in the final portion. That hurt the Grizzlies as Steven Adams could hardly be hidden. The lead grew something, but Morant led the hosts again in beat distance, among other things through this brilliant Dunk and a drawn Clear-Path Foul against Russell. But the Wolves remained calm and rewarded. McDaniel’s wet a good 90 seconds before the end an open corner-free – it was the Dagger for the Grizzlies.
