Hanovers first new addition comes from Kiel: 96 Holt Neumann
As was known on Monday afternoon, Phil Neumann von Holstein Kiel will switch to Hannover 96. The 24-year-old signed a contract for three years until June 2025.
“Anyone who knows Hannover 96 knows that it is a big club that is very important to many fans. I want great desire to be part of it and contribute to successfully designing the coming years,” Neumann becomes quoted on the 96 website.
Neumann third fastest player of the season
Neumann was trained in the youth performance center of Schalke 04, and his path led him to Kiel in 2019 via Ingolstadt. For the KSV, he played 71 league games before the last matchday of this season, but he is still waiting for his first goal in the jersey of the storks. Previously, he scored a goal in 24 league games for the FCI.
With a height of 1.92 meters, Neumann brings the right dimensions for a defender, but is also quick on his feet despite his state appearance. The DFL leads it with a top speed of 35.73 km/h as the third fastest player behind Heidenheim’s Marnon Busch (36.1 km/h) and Rostocks Streli Mamba (35.97 km/h). “With Phil Neumann we get a big and extremely quick central defender in the team,” said 96 sports director Marcus Mann: “At the age of 24, he is certainly not yet over. Profile very well for our intended path for the future. “
contracts with Frantz and Kaiser are not extended
It was already clear that a personnel change was coming up at Hannover 96 after this season. With the current Fürther coach Stefan Leitl, the new coach was only presented on Sunday from summer. Routine like Mike Frantz (35) and Dominik Kaiser (33), whose contracts expire and who belong to the major earners, will leave 96 at the end of the season. But even among younger semesters there is bloodletting: Marcel Franke (29, to Karlsruher SC) is already gone, Linton Mainas (21) destination is not yet known.
